Add Send Skype message
I have a feeling that Skype is a closed system that can’t really be interfaced to. All the other instant messaging programs (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Gmail…) are open though.

Skype is very (!) open. It has its own developer community, lots of add-ins, and a fairly easy SDK with bindings for many platforms.
