We currently run Final Builder 7.0.0.2056 and recently our server keeps rebooting itself randomly. After analysing the cause of these reboots, the bug points to the following process FBCMD.exe (See below). Please advice ASAP.
I have snipped the sensitive error message information and submitted a bug report.
The BSOD is due to a driver “WIN7_DRIVER_FAULT_SERVER”. I would suggest making sure all drivers on the machine are up to date, as well as the OS having all appropriate patches applied.
If this doesn’t work please make sure that this same behaviour occurs in the latest version of FinalBuilder. The build being used is over two year old, in which time we have added greater support for current OS updates.
Adding to what Jason posted, on windows is pretty much impossible for an application to cause a BSOD. In my experience, the faulting application is just what happens to be running at the time, and for an fb build server it’s quite likely to be fbcmd.exe. The main causes of bsod’s are 1) hardware - memory is a common culprit 2) driver bugs or drivers not dealing with bad hardware.
Thank you for your replies so far. we have encountered the same issue on a brand new server we recently purchased and we made sure all the drivers + hardware are up to date and are fine. checking the DMP file, it points again to FBCMD.EXE (See below if that helps). Maybe there’s something we are missing here? any help would be much appreciated.
To understand this issue more clearly would you be able to tell us what the FinalBuilder script being run is doing? We don’t fully understand why a BSOD is occurring on your two systems. I would suggest running a memory check, and disk check in the meantime as well.
Please contact us at our support email. We would like to send you a build to test with regards to this issue. The support email address is support@finalbuilder.com. Thank you.
