If I want to view the artifacts as variables, I get an unexpected error. I suspect the artifacts are not getting populated correctly, as the raw view show nothing.
The event log includes the following.

at Continua.Web.Builds.Controllers.BuildsController.ViewArtifactViewerType(Int32 id, Guid artifactId, String viewType)
What do you have as your Workspace rules for the stages? I suspect a workspace rule is causing the variables files to be deleted. I’m about to look into this, the variables xml files are synced using hidden workspace rules, it’s possible they are running before instead of after your rules, need to check.

I've got all the defaults for the workspace. I only realized after one of your comments about artifacts that you could go into a stage and edit things like the workspace and artifacts. I figured that wasn't worth playing around with...yet.
I made a minor change to ensure that the variable files artifact workspace rule (which is a hidden rule) is always run last. I tried but wasn’t able to cause the error you are seeing. Please try again with the next build (running now). It should be uploaded in 25 minutes or so… NBN won’t be here for 3 years so we’re stuck with 1Mb upload
