On of the problems I'm having as I'm testing the software from my nearest windows 8 tablet is the popup screens being fixed. Here is a screen shot from a Windows 8 Samsung 7 tablet that shows, it's difficult to get to all the information on the page without changing the orientation of the screen (landscape to portrait) because the popup is very tall. Try opening a browser with 1366x768 to see what I mean.
I think these popups should allow the users to drag the form up/down as the users need to reconfigure them on small resolution devices (think Windows 8 phone). Not a biggie, just an UX thingie.
Continua CI is not compatible with tablets, and while we could certainly try to tweak the UI to make it more compatible, all that would achieve is to make it less user friendly for non tablet users.
The real solution it to have seperate UI for mobile devices, and that is certainly something we plan to do (when time and resources permit). At the moment our focus is on making sure the core functionality is working as designed. It’s unlikely we will expose the full functionality (such as editing) to mobile devices, more likely just status views and the ability to manually start a build.
Fair call. It’s more annoying than anything else. I sit with the kids “testing” continua while playing board games, so it’s not a major practical issue for me yet. I’m planning to run with the Windows 8 tablet when consulting on premises with clients, so I hope that the build process is all sorted by that point. I manage the build process at the moment, I could always delegate.
