I've read in some posts about errors / issues regarding a build-mail. It seems to me that it might be possible to have an email generated by ContinuaCI. Is this correct?
I have found nothing in the docu about how to achieve this. Currently I use FinalBuilder to send an eMail.
Are there any means to make ContinuaCI sending mails directly?

Hi Michael,
If you look in the Notifications section of the Administration page, there are three pages Publishers, Subscriptions and Templates.
Go to the Publishers page to set up your email server details.
You can manage which groups of users get notifications about each system event on the Subscriptions page - if you choose a project or configuration source then you will be provided with a list of notification types including ones based on build events.
Under Templates you can edit the content of the emails and include variables related to the relevent items (e.g. build, configuration and project for build notifications)
