Error when cloning configuration

When cloning a configuration, some users get an error instead of the configuration being cloned succesfully and get redirected to Home instead, without the configuration being cloned.

This problem seems to occur for regular administrators who are authorised to clone a configuration, e.g. Project Administrators. When a Project Administrator chooses “Clone Configuration” from the dropdown, Continua prompts for a new Configuration name. When the user fills in the name and chooses “Clone”, instead of the system displaying a cloned configuration that can be further modified, the browsers shortly jumps to main screen, displays some logging line (similar when the Continua Service is restarted) and then the user is directed to Home.

Some users however seem to be able to do this succesfully, and we found out that the user additionally requires “CI Server Administrator” rights. Those rights can be entitled implicitly by the LDAP Administrator group, but also been set manually. For both users it seem to work correctly.

Hopefully you would be able to reproduce this and would be nice to have this fixed in an upcoming release.

Kind regards,
Remko Seelig

CI Server Administrators

Hi Remko,

Thank you for reporting this, we have now reproduced this and implemented a fix for the next version.
