Event log page buttons disappear when last matching search on a page is deleted but more matches are on next pages

When searching the event log (for instance athttps://continuaci.pluimers.com/account/privatemessages for “repository’ system event” or “bitbucket.org:443”) the page number selector disappears when you have deleted the last matching event from the current page.
This is wrong: future pages will likely contain matching events as well.
The page indicator should only disappear when: there are less than # events left that match the search criteria.
There, # is the number of events per page (which should be configurable, but I can’t find the configuration setting for that).
