Hello Finalbuilder team,
it appears that Finalbuilder 8 creates a new subdirectory in %temp% whenever I run a script. This subdirectory is never deleted, I now have a few hundred. The build number is 8.0.0.1432.
Kind regards,
Arthur Hoornweg
Hi Arthur,
To help us narrow this down would you be able to tell us what the name of the sub folder and files that are created in %Temp%? Thanks.
The folders have names like “FBEXTMP20151217_083713” and they’re totally empty. Sometimes as many as three are left behind in a single build, sometimes none at all.
My Windows7 VM uses Microsoft Security Essentials and I have the impression that this virus scanner sometimes needs a little time to scan a file or folder. I had to put a few delays into my build script or it would fail with “file in use” errors in certain places, mostly when I performed an action on a newly generated executable (such as writing a checksum into it or performing signtool.exe). Maybe the virus scanner still has a handle on your temporary folder when you try to delete it?
Hi Arthur,
Thank you for the name of the temporary directory that is being created. I was able to track the issue down to the new pin externals action for subversion. It wasn’t cleaning up one of the temporary folders it was using for a sync. I will add a fix and upload it today.
Update: Here is the build that I promised.

Great, thanks!
Say, you mentioned a backport of the bugfixes in the “pin externals” action for FB7 a few days ago, do you have an ETA for that? We still have some VM’s and build machines running XP and W2003…
Hi Arthur
This build has the fix backported from FB8 :
