I fully uninstalled CI 32 bit and installed CI 64 bit (PS, words somewhere that a move to 64 bit is supported without reinstalling would be great, assuming that actually is supported).
After installation, the ContinuaCI web site config in IIS still had its physical path pointing at the old C:\Program Files (x86)\VSoft Technologies\ContinuaCI\Web directory, causing config web page not to load. Removing the (x86) got it going.
We hadn't really anticipated a move from 32-bit to 64-bit on the same server. A reinstall would definity be recommended in this case.
Currently, the uninstaller does not remove the website from IIS. If the install detects a web site with the same name OR same path, then it assumes it does not need to install a new site. We could change the installer to update existing sites (or change the uninstaller to remove the site), but as we are dropping support for 32-bit as from version 1.9 this is not currently a priority.
Meanwhile, we would recommend deleting the website from IIS after uninstalling, and before installing Continua CI with a different bitness.
Ok… given that there’s a recent blog post regarding the move to 64 bit only, and presumably a fair number will need to upgrade their bitness to stay up to date… I guess there will be a good number of hits on this thread after people tried it. Perhaps update that blog post, or plan a new one.
