Newbie question - Running actions in a script as administrator

Hello everbody,

I am new here. I am having difficulties trying to run actions as an administrator such as copy files in the C:\Program Files folder as well as finding a way around the UAC with Windows Vista or Windows 7. I am trying to deploy apps such as ccleaner on client computers with modified .ini files.

I appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

Thank you!

Jason

Hi Jason,

You will need to start Automise (or ATCMD) with elevated privileges, i.e.

- Right click -> Run as Administrator - or -
- Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> Run this program as an administrator

Regards,
Paul.

This will work on the client's computer if I deploy it out thru Zenith? I am still getting the the UAC popups on the client's computer when the script runs on their system even when I build the script in Automise to run the actions as my administrator account. I appreciate any assistance with this as it will help me out a great deal.

Thank you!

Although this technically isn’t the correct forum to discuss Zenith scripting, I’ll tell you that I’ve had no problems with making Automise work via Zenith on Vista or Windows 7 without pop-ups. I haven’t tried forcing it to use the administrator privs in the script deployment options because I believe by default the scripts run are run as administrator.
