Problems using ftp-proxy

Hi,

I need to download some files using ftp. On some servers there is a proxy that has to be used. So I use the action  "FTP connect" with proxy settings.

But I can't establish a connection over proxy. When I use total commander (www.ghisler.com) everything is fine. Connection type is "HTTP CONNECT". Here are some parts from the log:

Firewall: 192.168.1.255

192.168.1.255=192.168.1.255

CONNECT ftp.xxxxx.com:21 HTTP/1.1 Host: ftp.xxxxx.com:21

HTTP/1.1 200 Connection established

[...]

Can you recommend a proxy type? Is it possible to log the communication during establishing the connection in a more detailed way? I tried many things but always got an error message.

Thanks for your help

Hi HHK,

What settings are used when the connection through the proxy work? Also have you tried setting the proxy type of “HttpProxyWithFTP” in the FTP Proxy settings? Also the connection allows you to turn on detailed logging if you require it.

Hi Jason,

I tried "HttpProxyWithFTP" but that didn't work. Actually, I tried all proxy types, with no success.

When I turn on detailed logging I can't see a difference in the log view.

When using total commander, I tell it to use a proxy, connection method is "HTTP CONNECT".

Hi HHK,

I have reviewed the code and tried a few configurations out and at this stage I am sorry to say we don’t support HTTP Connect or Web Tunnelling of FTP through the FTP actions. We have flagged this as something to update in Automise 5.

Hi Jason,

thanks for the information. I wish you would have better news. I'm looking forward for Automise 5.
