Salesforce.com Integration

Hi, I'm not a developer so please excuse my ignorance.  I'd like FB to update a field on my salesforce.com account after a process is completed.  I'd also like to pull the data from a field in salesforce.com to use in FB.

1. Is this possible? 

2. What's the best way to get started for someone with "tinkering" experience?

Automating web pages is problematic at best.

I’m not familiar with salesforce.com, but if it has some sort of REST api or webservice api then it may be possible. I’m sorry I can’t give you a better answer than that.
