As an example, if I have a variable %TARGET% set in the Destination field of a Copy Files action, and click the name, a list of other variables appears, but I can only select one of them with keyboard arrows and Enter, not with the mouse. I am fairly sure that I could select with the mouse in version 7. Clicking elsewhere on the dialog also fails to close the pulldown menu, except that if I try to select the third menu item with the mouse, the menu closes and the underlying item (in this case the radio button “Fail if any destination files exist”) gets selected, instead of the previous selection.
Any comment on this? Can it really be intentional that clicking the mouse on an item in a dynamic menu instead selects the item on the screen below the menu?
I have been doing a lot of maintenance on our projects, and its really hard to stop myself clicking an item when I have just used a mouse click to display a menu!
Hi Tim
It never supported mouse selection. There was a catch 22 situation with the focus changing when mouse selection was enabled, I was never able to find a way to make it work correctly, until yesterday at least Next update will have mouse support. I also updating the painting of the dropdown to support themes and the up/down arrows are now clickable. I do still need to update the variable type images as they don’t look to good on the dark theme, but that will have to wait until time permits. Hope to have an update out later today.
