Send Email action and authentication

I'm using the Send E-mail action in Automise 3.  I have an Exchange 2007 server. Is there a way to use something stronger than basic authentication with this action?  What settings would I have to change on the receive connector and on the action?

The SMTP Action currently only supports basic authentication. This is something we plan to address in the next major version.
