Hi there,
does the recent version of ContinuaCI support the recent versions of NCover? The NCover task in the stages designer is called “NCover 3”.

Hi Kay
We don’t have NCover 4 or 5 support. NCover 4 changed how it worked, and for the life of me I could not figure out what I needed to do to get it working under a CI server. I looked at the doco now, and for the command line reference it talks about NCover 3?? I have requested a license for NCover 5 so we can take a look and see if it can be supported.
Hi Vincent,
NCover 3 should suffice for our code coverage needs as well. I stumbled over the same situation in the documentation. It looks like there is no command line version of NCover anymore. We still have to figure out some things with NCover but including NCover 3 in our CI projects seems to be the right way.
Hi Vincent,
I got in touch with the developers of NCover because we encountered a very rare error condition during code coverage using NCover 5 and NCover 3. Although they got this error fixed in just a few hours the fix will not be applied to NCover 3 as it is no longer supported. So you might consider evaluating NCover 5 support for Continua CI.

Hi Kay
We are talking to NCover and did get a license for NCover Desktop. It doesn’t really appear to be suitable for use on a CI server, the command line tool can run coverage and generate a report file, however that report is desinged to be opened in a browser on the same machine as it was generated. All the internal links are to 127.0.0.1 so not usable as a report inside Continua CI.
NCover have asked if we can provide your details, let me know if you are ok with that.
I have contacted them about the server product, perhaps that might make it possible to create a usable report.
Hi Vincent,
please excuse my late reaction. I was out of office for a few days. Please feel free to provide any information to NCover that might help investigating the support for NCover 5.
