Team Foundation Service

Hi,

We're going to be looking at moving to Team Foundation Service towards the end of this year and wondered whether this had been tested with the current tools for Team Foundation Server. Ideally I just want to update the command that gets latest in our final builder project.

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steven

The TFS source control and workitem actions in FinalBuilder 7 will work with TFS2012, what isn’t working is our integration with the TFS2012 build workflow. Note that if the TFS2012 client is installed after FinalBuilder, you will need to re-install FinalBuilder.

I just checked our logs and there were some changes made recently that have not been released, so what I said above applies to the next official update (which I hope will be later today).

Hi Vincent

I just wanted to clarify that you're saying it will work with Team Foundation Service (the hosted Team Foundation Server from Microsoft). They announced it recently at http://www.microsoft.com/visualstud...on-service

Kind Regards

Steve

Hi Steven

Without having tested it, I cannot say 100% for sure that it will work, however I am pretty confident the source control and workitem actions should work ok against a cloud based tfs server (it’s just a remotely hosted tfs instance). What will not work is using FinalBuilder within the TFS build workflow, since you don’t get to install your own software on their cloud servers (as far as I can tell, the info on the site is somewhat vague).
