Hi,
We are planning on implementing Team foundation server in our
company. We want to use work items to create a Database Change
Request ( DBCR). So I have customized the template of a work
item to use it as a DBCR request.
We want to have it in such a way that only certain people can
approve a DBCR request opened by developers. Approval is
changing the work item status from one state to another state.
This can be done by double clicking on the state field and
changing the for field to the group of people who have the
authority to approve. In other words, people who have
authority to approve can change the state of a DBCR request or
a work item. So these group of people are mentioned in the for
clause of the properties of state field. I hope I made it
clear. Is there a better way of doing it?
Also, what if the developer who has opened the work item or
DBCR request also wants to cancel the request after it has
gone through certain states? How will I be able to achieve
this?
Any kind of help is appreciated.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi Aditya,
It sounds like you want advice on how to configure and use TFS itself - unfortunately we don't use TFS internally and are not experts in its use. You might have more luck over on the MSDN TFS forums.
If you have any questions specifically about the Automise TFS actions please let us know.
