What to expect from Automise 4 and when?

Hi, I know it's a nebulous question, but I just wanted an idea of when/if to expect v4 and what may be included with it?

I'd really love to hear there's a trigger/scheduler service being built to trigger scripts and a way of securing/encrpyting scripts etc. If you short on ideas, I've got plenty of 'em (just check the wish list forum! )

AT4 is currently scheduled for early Q1 next year… if not before. We’re currently working on a feature set and gathering requirements etc. A stand alone trigger/scheduler service is on the cards, I have someone currently gathering requirements and working on a spec for it and have assigned the task to a developer. We’ve been wanting to add this feature for a while now but have limited resources. For the most part AT4 will be the same feature set as FB7 (including the new IDE), minus the developer specific stuff, plus what ever AT specific stuff we come up with in the next few weeks. We’ll certainly be mining the forums for ideas too.

Thats great news, thanks. Can you add to the long list I've already sent through a nice way of passing data back and forth between called/included projects and also the ability of passing a variable contain email address info to the send email action - creating a file to pass to the send email action is such a pain

Just thought I'd check in and see how the AT4 developement/roadmap was looking - did you nail down a feature list and proposed drop date?

Hi TJ

We are still working away at AT4, but we are not yet ready to state a release date or feature list. The above mentioned triggering application has been put on hold, simply because we do not have the resources (people). Recruiting people remains our biggest issue, and we are not alone, nearly every business in Canberra has the some problem.

I will say that Steve is busy working on the build process and installer, but we are not quite feature complete yet. We should have some news to share in a few weeks.

At the moment I am just putting the finishing touches on the FTP Mirror action that you suggested. Once this is completed, I will be back working on the build script and putting the finishing touches on AT4.

Still cannot provide you with a drop date at this stage unfortunately.
